Media software and services provider Amdocs recently announced that it will continue to deliver electronic sell-through (EST) and transactional video-on-demand (TVOD) services on different platforms to Virgin Media customers in the United Kingdom through its media services arm Vubiquity.
The technology-led media services provider works with hundreds of content creators and content distributors throughout the globe and has capabilities distributed across the media supply chain. As such, it brings a number of features and services to the media consumption market, including video on demand, content localization, and distribution, as well as a range of managed services powered by new-generation tech solutions.
What Does the New Agreement Entail?
Under the expanded agreement, Vubiquity will continue to deploy its cloud-native Entertainment Suite from which Virgin Media customers can currently access premium EST content; TVOD content will be offered in the near future.
The service provider will also refresh Virgin Media’s current store service to deliver an enhanced and smoother experience for customers who opt to access purchased content via desktop computers, mobile devices, and Virgin Media’s set-top boxes.
As such, Vubiquity becomes part of an integrated end-to-end solution that covers everything from content acquisition, licensing, and curation to processing, management, and hosting for EST and TVOD productions.
