The Seven Biggest Names In AI Need Power Now

Bitzero 8

Backed by strategic investor Kevin O'Leary, Bitzero (NASDAQ: AIBZ) controls up to 1 GW of AI-ready power across North America and Europe.

Back in March, Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Meta, OpenAI, Oracle, and Elon Musk’s xAI gathered alongside President Trump at the White House.

The agreement they signed is expected to redefine how AI industry leaders operate for the rest of the decade.2

Formally, the seven most powerful companies in tech pledged to fund every megawatt of new electricity their AI buildouts will consume – along with all the grid infrastructure those projects rely on.

And Bitzero (NASDAQ: AIBZ) already holds the one thing Big Tech is most desperate for in today’s AI race. The company has access to more than a gigawatt of low-cost electricity under its control, spread across Norway, Finland, and North Dakota.3

Every bit of it was locked in years ahead of the March announcement — in some cases in countries where regulators no longer allow anything to be built on this scale.4 And Bitzero just announced a major $2.6 billion binding-letter with a potential long-term tenant at its flagship site.5

The figures coming out of Silicon Valley make it clear this scramble for AI power is no exaggeration. The five largest AI infrastructure players are on track to spend as much as $690 billion on capital expenditure in 2026.6

That number is larger than the entire defense budget of almost every nation on the planet — and most of it is earmarked specifically for AI infrastructure.

Yet even with that ocean of capital, AI may be heading toward a wall that few investors have yet considered.

There isn’t enough power to feed it.

The Real AI Bottleneck

Bitzero Seven Biggest Names 2

Many investors missed Nvidia’s climb in 2023, well before it became a $5 trillion AI heavyweight.7 But the AI boom has long since outgrown chipmakers and the Big Tech hyperscalers.

The obvious AI names are now widely understood, and for the most part their prices are already baked in. But the boom hasn’t cooled. It’s simply shifted one level down — into the raw inputs AI depends on. And by a wide margin, today’s most critical input is electricity.

The trouble is timing. Demand is here now but the power to meet it is years away – and it’s making the companies watching their AI usage climb by the day increasingly nervous.

A brand-new utility-scale power plant takes anywhere from five to ten years to move from approval to generating electricity.

Even the most aggressive project in motion can’t beat the clock. Stargate — the $500 billion AI infrastructure effort from OpenAI, Oracle, and SoftBank — has expanded to nearly seven gigawatts of planned capacity, with sites confirmed or in development across Texas, Michigan, Wisconsin, and elsewhere.8 But even Stargate is bound by what local grids can physically handle — and most of those planned gigawatts won’t come online for years.

The March pledge committed Big Tech to pay for new power. What it couldn’t do is make that power arrive any faster.

That gap is exactly what Bitzero (NASDAQ: AIBZ) is positioning to help close as AI demand climbs.

Cheap, Plentiful Power Already Secured

Bitzero 4

Bitzero (NASDAQ: AIBZ) has spent the past four years assembling precisely what Microsoft, Google, Amazon, and Meta now need to run AI.

Its flagship facility sits in central Norway, drawing 100% renewable hydroelectric power at just 3 to 4 cents per kilowatt-hour — roughly a third of what the typical U.S. data center pays today.9

The company also owns its grid connection outright, meaning it doesn’t lease electricity from a utility. It controls its own distribution in Norway, something very few public companies can claim.10

Shortly after Bitzero’s facility cleared approval, Norway shut the door behind it.

Regulators capped any new data center project at five megawatts — barely enough to keep a small server room humming, and a fraction of the 100-plus megawatts a single AI training facility requires. Bitzero’s concessions were already locked in before that cap took effect.11

The practical result: essentially no new player can build at Bitzero’s scale in Norway.

The $2.6 Billion AI Data Center Binding Letter

Bitzero Seven Biggest Names 1

Bitzero isn’t merely sitting on power. It’s already converting that power into the exact infrastructure the AI boom is starved for.

This month, the company made its move into the AI data center business official, signing a binding letter with a long-term tenant for an AI data center. The agreement is for a potential 15-year lease with AI cloud provider OneQode covering the full 110 megawatts at the Norway site, with deployment targeted for 2027.12

The deal is valued at up to $2.6 billion, with roughly 85% of that expected to flow through as net income once OneQode covers the electricity costs.13

That would place the entire flagship facility under a long-term tenant, with deployment expected next year — while most operators are still stuck waiting on grid approvals.

And that isn’t even the company’s biggest site.

Finland’s Kokemäki campus has been planned and has completed a due-diligence report by Red Engineering, supporting up to 520 MW of buildings, with a contemplated expansion reaching as high as 1,000 MW — a full gigawatt.

That ranks it among the largest AI-ready infrastructure footprints anywhere in Europe. Up to an initial 80 megawatts are on schedule for 2027, and the local utility has already confirmed the high-voltage grid connection.14

At that kind of scale, a single hyperscaler could claim hundreds of megawatts and still leave capacity for additional tenants. That sort of availability is almost nonexistent in North America right now, let alone in a facility that’s already permitted and grid connected.

And none of this hinges on signing a fresh AI contract tomorrow.

Bitzero’s (NASDAQ: AIBZ) power assets are already producing revenue in an entirely different line of business. The company operates a Bitcoin mining operation at roughly $50,000 per coin — comfortably below the $75,000-to-$82,000 range most of the industry contends with.15

The Shark Backing This Power Play

Bitzero 2

Long before any of this unfolded — before the White House pledge, before Stargate, before AI infrastructure spending blew past half a trillion dollars — “Shark Tank” star Kevin O’Leary became a strategic investor in Bitzero.16

“It’s really a power company,” O’Leary said in a recent interview. “It was able to acquire some very advantageous power contracts over long periods of time, and they can go anywhere they want with that power.”17

He’s been blunt about why those contracts matter more now than ever.

“There is no power on the grid anymore. You’ve got the Bitcoin miners with insatiable demand, and you’ve also got massive demand for AI data centers. These two are going to be fighting for power contracts.”18

O’Leary was sounding the alarm well before most of the market even grasped what the fight was about — and Bitzero (NASDAQ: AIBZ) sits right at the center of it.

Where Will the Big Tech Money Land?

Microsoft, Google, Meta, Amazon, OpenAI, Oracle, and xAI committed to pay for the power AI demands, at any price — and their latest earnings calls confirmed it.19

But the new power can’t be built quickly enough to keep pace. Utility stocks and reactor developers simply can’t deliver electricity within the necessary window.

What’s needed is gigawatt-scale power, already plugged into the grid, with AI hardware in production. Very few public companies can credibly say they have that. Bitzero is one of the few that can.

With up to 1 gigawatt of potential capacity spanning Europe and North America, that points to a meaningful opportunity for the company in today’s buildout.20

And with Big Tech poised to spend north of $600 billion on AI infrastructure, the companies that already control the power could be the ones to watch closest.21
