Actress Jennifer Aniston has long been known for her iconic personal style and sense of chic, and now she’s sharing her beauty secrets with the world through the launch of her vegan and cruelty-free hair care line, LolaVie.

Developed over the course of five years, Aniston’s brand aims to bring high-quality vegan hair care and styling products that were developed and produced without animal testing.

Made ‘without all the bad stuff’

“[LolaVie] has been in the works for a long time,” Aniston stated in the launch announcement she posted via social media. “[Our team is] really proud to say it’s been made without all the bad stuff … we’re paraben-free [and] cruelty-free because we love our animals.”

A lightweight Glossing Detangler is the brand’s initial foray onto store shelves. Designed to freshen hair up before styling, the product was made to detangle long hair using a proprietary formula featuring lemon extract, chia seeds, and vegetable-derived ceramides to improve the luster of one’s hair.

The LolaVie Glossing Detangler is just the first of many products that Aniston will be launching over the next few months. Still, its successors will be made with similar blends of natural ingredients formulated using the latest innovations in hair care science. It is also noteworthy that making vegan products is one of the brand’s priorities. These will all be made using methods that do not involve animal testing and are much safer for the environment.

LolaVie’s upcoming products aim to present the same blend of natural ingredients with the latest hair care science to provide the best service to consumers. The brand intends to release the products one at a time following the Glossing Detangler’s debut. In addition, the brand prioritizes its vegan status, claiming that it aims to create a beauty product that avoids harming animals or the environment.

According to an official statement on the brand’s website, LolaVie is committed to protecting the environment and using sustainable practices in production, packaging, and distribution. Among the measures publicly stated are the use of bamboo essence to strengthen brittle or aging hair instead of deionized water, which is a common ingredient to many commercially produced toiletries.

“LolaVie is committed to doing its part for the planet and to being more sustainable. In addition to using recyclable packaging wherever possible, we’re proud to fortify our products with bamboo essence instead of deionized (common) water,” the website states.

Vegan and cruelty-free products are trending among celebs

Aniston’s LolaVie is the latest in a growing number of vegan and cruelty-free cosmetic, skin care, and hair care brands spearheaded by celebrities.

Several months ago, actress Priyanka Chopra-Jonas launched her brand Anomaly. It is a sustainable beauty line geared towards bringing more affordable cruelty-free options to the mass market. Anomaly is distributed throughout the United States via Target and the price range begins at around $5.99 per product.

Likewise, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy host Jonathan Van Ness debuted his own hair care line, JVN Hair, in August of this year. The brand is a joint initiative between Van Ness and biotech company Amyris.
