Harry Styles Announces Vegan Beauty Brand

Hollywood superstar and solo artist Harry Styles announced his vegan beauty brand called Pleasing. This brand features a wide range of gender-neutral, vegan, animal-friendly, and gluten-free products like nail polish and skincare.

Harry said that he wanted his brand to ensure that skincare and beauty products don’t conceal a person’s identity but instead accentuate the person’s features. He specifically wanted to highlight each person’s character through the products.

The 27-year-old singer said in an interview with Dazed magazine that Pleasing would help a person be beautiful. He added that looking good doesn’t equate to being beautiful. However, a person’s happiness makes them glow and radiant. That’s why, Styles said, Pleasing products act not as a tool to make people beautiful but to let them feel beautiful.

Pleasing – a ‘unique’ cruelty-free brand

Currently, the brand only has skin serums and variants of nail polish. Styles explained that he loves looking at colors of flowers or wallpapers and thought of putting them as nail polish, which eventually became the brand’s original focus. However, he realized that the brand line-up would be much better if it did not exclusively feature nail polish.

He continued by saying it’s a big opportunity to make something extraordinary by operating a company with unique ways of doing things. He added that the true DNA of the brand is about working with people who are talented but less appreciated and have not received many highlights on their works and collaborate with them.

Additionally, the artist is aware of the future product releases globally so he emphasized that if the brand has to manufacture products like that, they have to make the production in the right way.

This means that Pleasing is making products out of repurposed plastics and biodegradable paper and inks made from plant biomass. As a result, the available types of nail polish are all 12-Free, which means it doesn’t contain substances like formaldehyde, parabens, fragrances, and other chemicals.

The manufacturer of Pleasing products has been a certified cruelty-free company by PETA since 2013. Also, It is still unclear if the singer himself is vegan, but he revealed from an interview last year that he doesn’t eat meat.

Pleasing will officially be unveiled to the public via the brand’s website on the 29th of November.
