850 Homes Expected to be Powered by these Community Solar Projects
Toronto, Ontario, March 4, 2025 — SolarBank Corporation (NASDAQ: SUUN; Cboe CA: SUNN, FSE: GY2) (“SolarBank” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce an update on the development of a 7.2 MW DC ground-mount solar power project known as the North Main project (the “Project”) on a site located in Wyoming County, New York. The Project has completed its Coordinated Electric System Interconnection Review (CESIR), and now can proceed to the next important milestone, permitting the Project site.
Following receipt of the necessary permits and financing, the Company intends to commence construction of the Project, which upon completion, will be operated as a community solar project. The Project is expected to be eligible for incentives under the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (“NYSERDA”) NY-Sun Program.
The clean energy generated by community solar projects feeds directly into the local electricity grid, and depending on the size and number of panels in the community solar project, renters and homeowners can earn credits on their electric bill and save money from the electricity that is generated by a project. By subscribing to a project, community members can access the benefits of renewable energy without having to install panels on their home and access power at a discount to prevailing utility rates.
